Pallas’ Cat: The #YAS QUEEN of Cats
(pronounced Palace’s Cat #yas queen)
Is that a fur ball? No, it's a fluffy cat! Where do these fluff potatoes live and exactly how fluffy are they? Glad you asked! They can be found in central Asia, Iran and western China, so book your plane tickets, and pack your binoculars, my friends! These aggressive cotton-balls love the cold and rocky terrain. They actually have the densest and longest fur of all cats. #angryplushballs
In case you were worried that you may be attacked by the world's thickest and angriest pom-pom, the Manual is about the size of a regular house cat—though they do bear some resemblance to Genghis Khan. Crisis averted, I know!
Curiously, these expressive kitty’s have two official names. The Pallas’ Cat and “Manul,” after the German naturalist that discovered them. In Greek they are actually named “ugly-eared’ and I don’t know about you, but I’d be as unhappy as they look too with a name like that.
These furlicious honey’s are not the social type. They are the loners of the cat realm, although most cats aren’t really all that friendly. I mean have you seen their eyes?! Speaking of eyes, the pallas’ cat doesn’t have the typical vertical slits that you see on most cats. They just have regular old round ones. It is unclear if that makes them more trustworthy or not.
Obviously these magnificent plush monsters are expressive, but their noises are even more expressive! They growl, purr, and yelp depending on their mood. I’d pay to see a convo between two of these babes.
So, when you are planning your trip to the rocks of Asia, select your furs carefully so they do not think you have killed their kin!
